Quebec is a province located in eastern Canada. It is the largest province in the country by size and the second largest by population. It borders the provinces of Ontario, Newfoundland, Labrador, New Brunswick, the territory of Nunavut, and the American states of New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. The official language of the province is French. Quebec has saved its Francophone traditions, which contributes to it being a popular tourist destination. Quebec City is the capital of the area and has more than five hundred thousand inhabitants. It only follows Montreal, in size. The most famous landmark of Quebec City is the Château Frontenac.

There are two major airports near Quebec: Montréal’s Trudeau International Airport and Quebec City’s Jean Lesage Airport. Both operate domestic and international flights. Reaching the province is also possible by cruise line, by Amtrak train from NYC and on Coach Canada and Greyhound buses. VIA Rail Canada and AMT provide regional train connections to other cities in the province. There is also a very well developed intercity bus system. The province has more than 3400 km (2100 miles) of bike lanes, which means that several of the regions are fully accessible to cyclists.
